Doing
Business in Australia
Australian business is largely conducted in its cities. Sydney
and Melbourne in particular are large multi-cultural, sophisticated
cities. These world class centres demand a high level of preparation
and presentation from exporters.
Methods of payment
Most business in Australia is done on sight of draft or open
account terms. In order to ensure competitiveness in Australia,
it may be necessary to open business dealings on an open account
basis. Letters of credit may still be used in the formative
period of a business relationship, but once trust has been
established, payment typically progresses to the open account
system.
