The Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters, formerly the Canadian Importers Association, is a national organization committed to providing support services of superior value and developing the trade activities of its membership.

The Association officially adopted its new identity as the Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters at the Annual General Meeting on June 6, 2000. Given the evolving needs of members, we will create a Foreign Customs and Market Access Committee. The Committee will assist members who export to the United States and Mexico. The formation of the Foreign Customs and Market Access Committee will ensure that members who export to the U.S. have a strong voice in Washington, D.C.

In our expanded role, we will work to facilitate the movement of goods across international borders. We will focus upon market access, customs policy, and the reduction of trade barriers for Canadian exports. The Association is a private, non-profit organization, which has been servicing Canadian importers since 1932. The Association is Canada's key source of information on Canadian trade policy and provides Canadian trade practitioners, with critical information, effective representation to government and timely advice. Our mandate is to provide superior services to our members to keep traders competitive and profitable.
