• You receive a domain name - depending upon membership level you have selected. We select a good domain name that conveys your business goals and has the potential to climb up search engine rank fast. We consult with you and do necessary research to identify potential domain names, availability, search engine potential, competition etc. and finally select a domain name that conforms to your product line and has good potential to get high rank in search engine results. Many inputs, such as surfer behaviour, competition, KEI (Keyword effectiveness index) etc. go in the research. We have sophisticated tools to conduct keyword research.



• We do all that is necessary to register the domain name and bind it with allocated web-space at our server. Your functional web-site gets ready within 24-48 hours. After that - we design web-pages and upload these in the web-space so that the web-site is visible from every corner of the globe. We also activate e-mail, ftp and other web-services.



• Ownership of the domain name rests with us, or you - depending upon the membership level you have selected. However, even if you select a package where domain ownership rests with us - you may decide to get the ownership by paying suitable fee afterwards.

But, why do I need a domain name ?

1. Domain name is your identity / official address in the Internet, a unique name that a computer can identify from million others. Like a brand name - your domain name is registered with relevant registration authority of Internet. Once registered, no one can have a website with your domain name.



2. Registering a domain name is the first of three tasks in the making of a website. The other two tasks are - binding the domain name to web-space and web-page design. For more sophisticated web-sites - inputs such as database, software etc. are required.



3. Remember - registration of a domain name is subject to its availability. Like brand name, if the domain name is already registered you have hardly any choice but to look for alternative domain name. We register domain names under .com .net and .org TLDs

What About Renewals ?

• Domain name registration is administered by an international organization called ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). ICANN has stipulated rules and regulations for registration and renewal of domain names.



• A fee needs to be paid for registration of a domain name. The registration remains effective for a fixed period, such as one year - after which the domain owner needs to pay renewal fee for keeping the registration alive. Inability to pay renewal fee will lead to termination of registration and loss of domain name



• We pay for domain registration charge for first year and renewal fee for subsequent years - so long you remain member of The Great Indian Bazaar. You do not have to pay for domain registration or renewal as long as you remain member of The Bazaar. If you have opted for domain ownership and leave membership of The Great Indian Bazaar, ownership of domain name still remains with you. However, you will be responsible for its timely renewal in subsequent years.
