What is FTP ?
How do I Transfer Files from PC to web-site ?

You have completed designing your web-site. Individual files (or pages), that constitute your web-site, are now residing in your PC. You also know in which directory of your web-space these files are to be transferred. You now need a software called FTP for transferring files from your PC to web-space.

What is FTP ?

FTP stands for 'File Transfer Protocol' - the standard Internet protocol for transferring files from one computer to another. It is commonly used to copy files from a personal computer to a server or the other way round (i.e. copying files from server to your PC). When you copy files from your PC to server - its called 'uploading' and in the reverse case, i.e. when you copy files from server to your PC - the process is called 'downloading'
