Anti-Dumping probe against China

India has initiated anti-dumping investigations against imports of 1-Phenyl-3-Methyl-5- Pyrazolone from China.

Acting on a petition by Prima Chemicals and Polygon Chemicals, Directorate General of Anti-dumping and Allied Duties found there was sufficient prima facie evidence of dumping of the subject goods (1-Phenyl-3-Methyl-5-Pyrazolone) from China and subsequent injury to the domestic industry.

The DGAD also concluded there was prima facie evidence of the causal link between dumping and injury and initiated investigation to determine the existence, degree and effect of any alleged dumping and to recommend amount of anti-dumping duty which, if levied, would be enough to remove the injury to domestic industry.

The product involved is an organic chemical used in dye and pharmaceutical industry for manufacture of analgin, solvent dyes and pigment dyes.

The period of investigation for the purpose will be April 1, 2003 to March 31, 2004.
