Description :

Purchase of potato for chipping used by snack food
manufacturing company.

Preferred variety: Lady Rosetta

Size range:45mm to 75mm
Dirt:2% max in any one consignment

Tuber shape:
To be normal for variety and shipments to be predominantly
free of tuber shapes not typical of the variety.

Sugar content:
Suitability for processing to be established by a glucose
indicator strip test (test-tape). Only potatoes with sugar
levels of 0.1% or less to be considered suitable.

Solid content:
Minimum level of 19% total solids.

Tuber damage:
Damage to potato tubers attributable to machinery, insects
or physiological disorders including hollow heart, fleck,
blight, greening and rots shall not exceed 5% by tuber number.

Sprouting:
All shipments to be treated for sprouting

Packaging:
Potatoes are to be packed in 20 KG jute bags.
Packing to allow for shrinkage
Containers:
Potatoes to be stowed in 20 foot international reefer
shipping container. Each container shall contain 15 metric
tones.
