Background: Dear Sir / Madame,
Levent Group of Companies was established over forty years ago as
a textile manufacturing company in the Turkish Republic of
Northern Cyprus (T.R.N.C.). From the mid 1970's onwards, in line
with economic development of our country, we have diversified into
different sectors which are very briefly outlined below. Since
then, we have been the fastest growing company in the T.R.N.C.


Our activities include private educational institutions,
construction, which is mostly housing projects built, financed and
sold by us, construction related manufatcuring, including brick
and tiles, trading, automative retailing, poultry production,
dairy production and food retailing. We have been the sole
distributor for some of the world's most famous brands including
Sony, Honda, Fiat and Casio to name a few, for as long as two
decades. We are now extending our imports to include food and
drinks which we sell mainly in our own supermarkets.


Our construction company has built, financed and sold over 2,500
houses ranging from apartment flats to private villas and various
industrial and commercial buildings. When our consturuction
business was in development, we have established the largest brick
and tile factories in North Cyprus, quarries for stone excavation
and marble production, ready made cement plants and a production
facility for aluminium and wood products.


In 1997 we opened our first supermarket which was the largest of
it's kind with instore production facilities and the only one to
use electronic checkout units. Today we have four stores with two
more to be opened before the end of  this year. Our four stores
now gross over USD30 million annually.


Poultry and dairy production are our latest ventures which, even
though are now operational, will take another year to reach full
potential. In the month of July, we shall open our new 5,000
square meters dairy plant, which will start production on cheese
products, yoghurt, fresh milk and UHT milk.


Today our annual turnover of more than USD70 million and work
force over 1000 are the largest of any company established in the
small country of T.R.N.C.
