Indian Long Grain Rice

My company has very strong hold on the West African market for rice imports.
We are looking to enter into a joint venture with an Established Indian
based exporter of rice. The first shipment will be 12,500 MT of rice to
Ghana. Our interest is long term. These shipments will be on a repeat basis
and further we will be exporting to other West African countries as well.
MY COMPANY WILL BE OPENING THE LC'S. Please note our requirements below :
1) 12,500 MT of long grain non-Basmati rice ( 25-35% broken
2) CIF Ghana
3)PG Bond must be 3% *
4)Payment will be confirmed LC after 90 days *
5)Prior to any commitment we will need references of past shipments *
6)We will letter from bank vouching for company's ability to ship *
7)Later we will need proof of stock *
8)All bank transfer charges during deal must be borne by Seller. We will
reimburse Sellers charges accountable to Buyer after successful shipment *
9)Two of us will visit Seller prior to opening LC to gauge their set up.
This cost too will be covered by Seller and will be reimbursed upon
successful shipment *
As you can see our preliminary terms are very stringent. Those marked
in asterisks will be negotiable on future deals. The reason for this
is because in 1997 we were cheated by a so called rice exporter and
we are not prepared to suffer this again. To summarize, we are very
serious in developing a long term relationship with a well established
financially strong company who have a long history of rice shipments
and who have a determination to have a long term trade set up with
West Africa.
